PRDTR

PRDTR is an audio studio from Porto Alegre, Brazil.
I was invited to create a new brand identity for the current moment the studio is in.

The references they sent me included logos like Pitchfork, Kexp and Ableton.
They wanted to follow the same idea: something simple, minimalistic, no more extra elements than needed.
While I was looking out for inspiration, I've found the work of Berenice Abbott "Interference of Waves". What I liked about it the most is the strong graphics created through the black-and-white lines. It reveals how strong the energy is while pulsing through water.
From Abbott's work and other researches made, lines kept on showing up.
I looked into the wave form of a positive interference and deconstructed it into lines.
Inspired by the last form, I took the up-going part of the wave and framed it as the symbol for PRDTR.
From the beginning, they made it cleat that their approach would always be looking forward and to stay in permanent evolution.
The outcome brings a clean, contemporary design, along with strong personality.
Thank you!
